What does the programme include?
The tasting begins with a warm welcome in the tasting room and an introduction to the story of the family chocolate shop. You are then taken through the history of chocolate, from its arrival in Europe in the 16th century to our region, and told why Radovljica is known as Slovenia’s sweetest town.
You will learn the difference between cocoa and chocolate, and how to distinguish good chocolate from exceptional chocolate. You will find out which ingredients do not belong in real chocolate and what to look out for when buying it.
In the practical part, you will get to know the cocoa tree, where it grows and how chocolate is made. You will taste cocoa beans and the juice produced during cocoa fermentation, which is a real rarity in the world of chocolate.
We also address the common question of whether chocolate is gluten-free. This is followed by a tasting of white, milk and dark chocolate with geographical origin, while you learn the correct method for tasting chocolate.
At the end, each participant chooses two pralines of their choice from a wide selection of 20–30 different flavours, with an emphasis on local ingredients and original recipes.
